Orders & quantities

What is the minimum number of pieces?

Our minimum order is 10 pieces, for all techniques. On larger runs the unit price drops; just ask in your quote request.

Can I order shirts in different colours for one design?

Yes, that's certainly possible. The minimum is 10 pieces in total, with variation in sizes and colours allowed.

Which textile brands do you supply?

The most popular brands we print are Gildan, Fruit of the Loom, B&C, Bella+Canvas and Stanley/Stella. We have access to almost every major brand, just ask.

Which colour T-shirts do you have?

That varies by brand and by garment; each brand uses its own colour chart. Gildan has the largest range of colours, so if you're looking for a specific colour, Gildan is often your best starting point.

Can you also add names and numbers to clothing?

Yes, that's possible. Different rates apply for this than for regular printing, request a quote with the specifications of the names/numbers.

Can I bring my garments purchased elsewhere to have it printed?

In most cases we'd rather you didn't. In almost all situations we supply the textiles ourselves, which gives us guaranteed adhesion and quality. Mass-market clothing (Decathlon, H&M, etc.) often has unknown coatings that cause problems with inks.

Supplying your own is possible in specific exceptions, e.g. sports clubs with their own kit supplier, private brands, or niche items we can't source. For that we use an intake form to record the composition and treatments, and we always do a test print and wash test before we do the bulk run.

What if the print doesn't adhere well after all?

With textiles we supply: this almost never happens, and if it does we reproduce free of charge. With your own supplied textiles we do a sample print and wash test beforehand. Should it turn out after bulk production that the print unexpectedly doesn't adhere due to properties of the fabric that didn't come to light in the test, we cannot be held liable for reproduction, but we will help find a solution (alternative technique, reproduction at material cost).

Delivery time & rush orders

How long does it take?

As standard we ship on average within 7–10 working days after approval of the digital proof.

We need it incredibly quickly, is that possible?

Faster is usually possible, depending on textile availability. Some brands or specific colours have a longer delivery time, so get in touch straight away to let us know your requirements. For genuine rush orders we'll do our best to help.

How is it shipped?

Shipping within the Netherlands goes via various carriers. Collection by appointment at our print shop in Leidschendam is also possible. International shipping is available on request; for tour merch we deliver to various EU locations along your tour route.

Files & design

What kind of files do you need?

Vector files (EPS or AI) are ideal. Make sure all text in the file has been converted to outlines (letter contours).

PSD and JPG/JPEG are usually usable too, but must be supplied at actual size at a minimum of 300 DPI.

Workable formats: EPS, AI, PDF, PSD, JPG, TIFF.

How can I supply my file?
  • By email to verkoop@visualprint.nl (state your company name or the project name in the subject line)
  • Large files via WeTransfer or similar services
What are the maximum dimensions of the print?

Position Standard XL

Front 30 × 40 cm 38 × 50 cm

Back 30 × 40 cm 38 × 50 cm

Chest or pocket logo 10 × 10 cm,

Sleeve short / long 10 × 8 / 10 × 35 cm,

Can I see a sample before you print the clothing?

Always. You'll receive a digital proof by email, with the exact position and the Pantone colour numbers used. Only after your approval do we start production.

What are PMS colours?

PMS stands for Pantone® Matching System. This system is used worldwide as a colour standard. Every PMS number is the same everywhere in the world, PMS 021 is always the same orange, whether you print in Leidschendam, London or Los Angeles.

Payment & contact

Can I pay afterwards, once I've received the shirts?

No, all orders we process must be paid in advance via iDEAL or bank transfer. For returning business clients, different arrangements can be made by agreement.

How do I request a quote?

Send an email to verkoop@visualprint.nl with:

We'll respond as quickly as possible with a price indication or a request for additional info.

  • Which textile (brand/type, colour, sizes and quantities)
  • Which printing technique (or: ask for advice)
  • Print position(s) and desired dimensions
  • Your design (see artwork specifications above)
  • Any deadline
Do you also work for private individuals?

Yes, private individuals are welcome too, although our focus is on B2B orders and larger runs. For a stag or hen party, a classic anniversary shirt or a team outing, for example, that's no problem.

Printing techniques

When do I choose plastisol transfer instead of DTF?

Plastisol transfer is more cost-effective and more durable for larger runs (from ~25 pieces) and gives stronger colour intensity in Pantone. DTF wins for smaller runs, photorealistic designs and fine detail.

What is the difference between plastisol and silicone transfer?

Plastisol is the classic screen printing ink on transfer film, opaque, robust, ideal for cotton and dark textiles. Silicone, on the other hand, adheres better to polyester and stretch fabrics, moving with the textile without cracking, ideal for sportswear and corporate clothing.

How long does embroidery last?

Well-executed embroidery is very hard-wearing and withstands intensive wear.

What does digitising a logo cost?

The cost of the embroidery file depends on the complexity of the design. This is a one-off cost; for repeat orders we only charge set-up costs for the repeat.

How large can you embroider?

Technically up to about 48 × 34 cm, but the real question is whether you want that. We charge embroidery per stitch: the larger and fuller a design, the more stitches. A large hoop works best for a back design with separate elements, a logo mark and text with space between them, not for an area that's largely fully filled in. Want a large, densely filled image such as a full coat of arms? Then (DTF) transfer or screen printing is usually more cost-effective; we reserve embroidery for the premium accent.

Does sublimation work on cotton?

No. Sublimation ink only bonds with polyester fibres. For cotton clothing, transfers or screen printing are available.

What is the difference between sublimation and transfer?

With sublimation the ink becomes part of the fabric, imperceptible. With transfers a thin layer is applied on top of the fabric, noticeable but opaque on all fabric colours.

Can you also make photorealistic prints?

For full-colour or photo designs we recommend DTF or sublimation. Screen printing works best with graphic designs up to 7 colours.

Do you also do signed & numbered editions?

Yes, by arrangement. We print and organise the finishing; signing can be done via your artist (coming in person or having the prints sent over) or by stamp. We do edition numbering by hand or with sequentially numbered stamps.

Are your specialty inks phthalate-free?

Yes. Our plastisol inks are phthalate-free (no plasticisers from the DEHP/DBP/BBP family). Water-based and discharge are naturally so too.

Can specialty inks go through industrial washing?

No, wash specials at a maximum of 30°C. Industrial washing degrades the finish too quickly; for clothing that needs to be washed at 60°C+, choose screen printing or embroidery instead of a specialty.

Quotes & ordering

Is a quote without obligation?

Yes, always. You're not committed to anything until you give written approval. We also don't charge any quotation fees.

How long is a quote valid?

10 days as standard. Material prices (textiles, yarn, inks) can fluctuate; for large runs we sometimes agree a shorter validity.

Can you help with the design?

No, we don't do design. We can, however, make your file print-ready.

Can we match our corporate identity colours exactly?

Yes. For screen printing we work with PMS codes (Pantone Matching System). For embroidery we match to standard yarn palettes, which is almost always sufficient, though it sometimes calls for a small compromise on a shade.

Can we arrange our textile purchasing centrally for multiple locations?

Yes. For years we've supplied multi-location companies with centralised order handling per location or employee.

Supplying your own textiles

What if I don't know whether my shirt has a coating?

Then you fill in "don't know". We check the product datasheet if it's available, and otherwise do a test on one piece. No shame in it, we'd rather have honest doubt than a wrong answer.

Can I have my own jacket or work trousers embroidered with a logo?

Embroidery works on most textiles because it bonds mechanically rather than chemically. Send a photo of the item with its label and the desired position, and we'll advise.

We're a sports club and already have shirts from [brand X]. Can we have you print them?

Yes, that's what the exception is for. Send us the specs of the shirt via the intake form, and we'll look up whether we have experience with that brand and which technique works best.

By industry & sector

Can we have each shirt printed individually with the pupil's name?

Yes, that's easy to do with DTF transfer. Supply a list of names and sizes and we'll take care of the rest.

Can parents order directly instead of the school?

We can facilitate this with a temporary online order page where parents pay themselves. Ask about the options.

Do you offer sustainable or organic cotton textiles for schools?

Yes. We work with brands like Stanley/Stella for organic cotton T-shirts and hoodies, and with phthalate-free inks. Ask for the sustainable options with your quote, usually a few euros more per piece, but a good story for the school.

Do you work with club logos and corporate identities?

Yes, that's our daily work. Send over the club logo and we'll advise on colour coding, placement and sponsor integration.

Can we have each shirt printed individually with a name and number?

Yes. A unique name and back number per player, at a small surcharge per personalisation.

Can we follow KNVB guidelines for sponsor logo placement?

Yes. We know the guidelines for main sponsor (chest), co-sponsor and sleeve sponsor and apply them.

How often can an embroidered apron go through industrial washing?

It holds up well through industrial wash cycles. Embroidery is practically indestructible, provided the base textile itself lasts.

Do you also have sustainable options?

Yes. We work with organic cotton, recycled textiles and water-based, phthalate-free inks. Ask specifically about the sustainability options.

Which workwear brand do you recommend for landscapers?

It depends on budget and use. Blåkläder is known for robustness and quality, offers a good mid-range, is comfort-oriented. We advise depending on what your team needs.

Which hi-vis brands do you recommend?

Blåkläder is our standard for certified hi-vis, reliable quality and a broad range, depending on requirements and budget.

Can you also provide PPE certification after printing?

We deliver using the right materials and methods. The official certificate remains with the manufacturer of the workwear; we guarantee that our printing does not affect its validity.

Do you take part in European tenders?

Yes, we can take part in tenders via Mercell (formerly TenderNed) and submit an EMVI-based bid (best price-quality ratio). Send us the tender documents and we'll see whether we're a fit.

What is the minimum run for corporate apparel?

From 25 pieces for screen printing, from 10 for embroidery and from 10 pieces for DTF. For a complete onboarding kit (T-shirt, hoodie, polo, cap) we recommend at least 25 sets to spread the start-up costs.

How do you maintain colour consistency across reorders?

For each order we store the Pantone codes and mixing ratios, so a reorder in 6 months' time looks identical. For highly colour-critical brands we can also keep a reference sample in our archives.

What about confidentiality?

As standard we work without an NDA. On request an NDA is possible, feel free to send us your own NDA and we'll sign it. We have experience with brands preparing non-public collections or collaborations.

How quickly can you deliver crew shirts?

With stock textiles and a simple design, on average 7–10 working days. Rush is possible by arrangement, at least around one week, depending on production capacity and materials. Ask specifically for urgent projects.

Can security vests be leased?

We sell, we don't lease. But for recurring events we can arrange stock holding where you reuse them, often cheaper than leasing in the long term.

Products & extras

How long does a sticker last?

Indoors 5+ years UV-resistant, waterproof and scratch-resistant. Outdoors on a laptop, bottle or skateboard a sticker easily lasts 2–3 years.

Can we get eco stickers?

We offer paper stickers (compostable) and recycled vinyl as an alternative to standard vinyl. Slightly shorter lifespan but more sustainable.

What is the difference between digital and screen printing for posters?

Digital is more cost-effective and faster for smaller runs and full-colour work. Screen printing gives more intense colours, Pantone-precise, and offers specials (neon, metallic, glitter) that digital can't. For edition series and a premium look: screen printing.

Can we order small series of 5–10 posters?

For digital print: yes, from 10 pieces per design. For screen printing: minimum 25 pieces per design.

How long does an outdoor banner last?

With a standard vinyl banner: 1–2 years outdoors without colour loss. For a longer lifespan you choose a heavier quality or mesh banner (wind-permeable).

Can we combine print work with textiles and corporate gifts?

Yes, that's exactly the idea. For a trade fair or event we supply the complete kit: flags, banners, print work, printed clothing and gadgets, in one delivery.

Can we order small, for example 10 pieces?

For most products a minimum run of 50 pieces applies. For some premium items (e.g. a stainless steel water bottle with engraving) fewer is possible, but the unit price is then considerably higher. For clothing we can often do smaller quantities; combining within one quote works out most cost-effectively.

How sustainable is the range?

We offer an extensive eco line with recycled and organic alternatives for almost every product. As standard we recommend the sustainable variant if it's comparable in price and appearance. Ask about the eco options with your quote.
